Every brand page carries two scores. This page explains where each one comes from.
Our score out of 10
- An editor reviews the brand: what it sells, how it prices, its shipping, returns and customer service policies, and how clearly it explains each one.
- We use the brand’s own website and published policies, and say so when a detail could not be confirmed there.
- We only describe hands-on testing when we have actually bought and used the product.
Reader ratings out of 5
- Anyone can rate a brand and describe their order — no account needed.
- Every reader review is read by our team before it is published. Reviews that are spam, abusive or not about a real order are rejected.
- The star rating is the average of published reader reviews only. Nobody can edit it by hand.
What we do not do
Brands cannot pay for a higher score, a better position in a list, or to have a reader review removed. Affiliate commissions have no part in any score.
What a rating cannot promise
Brands change products and policies without notice, and one shopper’s experience can differ from another’s. Check the brand’s current return policy before you order.
